In our first volume, Show-Me Katy, we highlighted the history of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad in Missouri. Now we’re back to feature even more of this iconic railroad in Katy in Kansas & Oklahoma.  

Katy in Kansas and Oklahoma, Volume Two of the Classic Katy Series, looks at the MKT's mainline stretching from Kansas City, MO, south to Denison, Texas.  This full-color hardcover book also features the lines to Bartlesville, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Joplin.  And, in a first for any book covering the MKT, you’ll find extensive coverage of the former Rock Island lines, including the Oklahoma-Kansas-Texas subsidiary.  Also included are in-depth chapters on the big terminals of Kansas City, Parsons, and Denison.  

While the book features images of the Katy from the 1960s onward, it focuses on the 1980s and the years leading up to the 1988 merger with Union Pacific.
